Process Improvement

CEI process engineers have many years of experience with process improvement in the production and research environment.  Both incremental and revolutionary process engineering improvement can be supported.

Engineering Incremental Improvements

Incremental improvements are typically small engineering improvements geared to reduce waste, improve efficiency, yield, or labor utilization, or reduce other production costs.  These improvements are typically being sought for minimal capital investment.  The typical approach used by a CEI process engineer is to spend some time studying and understanding the existing process and then proposing changes to process flow, raw materials, equipment, staffing, or operating parameters that will result in the desired improvements.  The engineer's focus is generally on minimal capital investment.  The most cost-effective improvements are usually found by optimizing operations around existing equipment with possibly a few minor equipment upgrades or implementation of simple automation.

Engineering Revolutionary Improvements

CEI process engineers can also assist your efforts at making revolutionary improvements to your process.  The typical approach is for the client and CEI engineer to work together to evaluate current processes versus others in the industry and with totally new approaches. The initial steps are to define the ideal solution then factor in what is practical in terms of process constraints, cost, and any other relevant factors.  From this stage, engineering projects follow many different paths, some resulting in major capital expenditures, some resulting in automation projects, others returning to an incremental approach in order to stay within constraints.

If you sense a need to improve your processing capability, a CEI process engineer is available to discuss your needs and assist in developing a path of improvement.
