Process/Project Engineer

The Process/Project Engineer at Creative Engineers, Inc. plays a very important role in the successful execution of our projects. We work with our customers in a very collaborative mode, designing and building systems, specifying equipment, developing detailed P&IDs, and everything else necessary to meet the needs of the project and customer.

Process/Project Engineer is primarily responsible for
• Calculating mass and energy balances
• Design of custom equipment
• Specifying and buying equipment
• Designing pipe systems and skid systems
• Participating in and conducting experiments and process trials
• Assisting in commissioning of pilot plants, skid, and full-scale production systems

Additionally, the Process/Project Engineer will have the opportunity to get involved in
• Developing P&ID’s and PFD’s
• Actively participating in our Safety Program
• Marketing our services/capabilities
• Assisting in preparation of proposals for clients
• Purchasing and expediting
• Interfacing with customers and contractors
• Process control specifications

Education/Experience/Skill Requirements
• BS or MS in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
• A minimum of ten (ten) years related experience required (experience working in a chemical plant or work in chemical plant design).
Experience in a manufacturing environment is essential.
• Willingness to travel approximately 25% of time to customer sites
• Highly motivated and the ability to work independently
• Professional Engineers License a plus
• Proficient with AutoCAD from Autodesk is a plus
• Ability to have a home office is a plus

Creative Engineers, Inc. welcomes Travis Hale to our Greenville, SC office! Travis has over 25 years of experience since graduation from The University of South Carolina in Chemical Engineering. Travis’ broad perspective will help our customers with environmental testing, regulatory compliance, safety programs, process scale-up, hazard assessment, and all sorts of process engineering. Travis has deep technical knowledge in silicone, silica, silanes, sub-micron particle suspensions, synthesis reactions, wastewater processing, and metal catalysts. We look forward to having Travis help our customers in the Greenville area and all around the world.

Alkali Metals Safety Training January 2018

Alkali Metals Safety Training

Today we had our first Alkali Metals Safety Training in the new year! Thank you to all who attended!  As part of the event we also demonstrated our pump test rig by pumping NaK with one of our four-stage EM pumps.  We discussed design approaches for buildings, systems, and equipment. We learned how to contain or extinguish a metal fire and had hands-on training. We also practiced safe techniques for small spill cleanup.

Welcome Will Cheves

Creative Engineers, Inc (CEI) welcomes Will Cheves! With over 20 years of experience in mechanical engineering, process engineering, project management, and other roles, Will can contribute greatly to our wide variety of projects. Will has joined our staff in the new Greenville, SC office, where his combination of education and hands-on experience in adhesives manufacturing, textile manufacturing, and more will be a great asset. His background and processes knowledge utilizing all sorts of equipment and hazardous chemicals will be put to good use by our growing client list.

Custom Alkali Metal Safety Training

Creative Engineers, Inc. (CEI) recently completed a custom training and demonstration class for a group from CSIR South Africa. In addition to learning about Alkali metal properties, safety, hazards, spill cleanup, and other hands-on activities, CEI demonstrated a liquid-metal Electro-Magnetic pump. We used our four-stage DC EM Pump to demonstrate a liquid metal system utilizing supply tank, return tank, and other devices including DC power supplies able to produce up to 850 amps to power the pump for the desired flow rate.

Creative Engineers, Inc. is proud to announce the opening of our new location in Greenville, South Carolina!

Alkali Metals Safety Training

Thank you to all our class attendees for the September 2017 Alkali Metals Safety Training class! We had a great turn out from many different countries. We learned about the hazards associated with handling and using Alkali metals, as well as proper PPE, spill control techniques, and first aid. We discussed design approaches for buildings, systems, and equipment. We learned how to contain or extinguish a metal fire and had hands-on training. We also practiced safe techniques for small spill cleanup.
