Sodium Methylate
Sodium methylate, also known as sodium methoxide, is a commonly used chemical that can be produced by various routes. The highest quality is achieved by reacting methanol with metallic sodium. CEI’s engineers have been designing these reaction systems since the 1980s. Sodium methylate is popular as a catalyst for various reactions including the esterification process commonly used to produce biodiesel. The depth of experience in alkali metals and high-temperature reactions make the company exceptionally qualified to engineer these type of systems, and engineers are available for process design, equipment design, commissioning, and automation.
