High-Temperature Metal-Halide Reduction
Many metals can be produced by reducing a metal halide with sodium. Aluminum, titanium, tantalum, and silicon are among the metals commonly produced by reduction of a metal halide with sodium. These reactions are usually done at very high temperature and present unique engineering challenges for process control and equipment design. CEI’s engineers have experience designing and operating such systems at our facility in York, Pa.
